How You Can Help
Mason County Literacy depends on individuals, community organizations,
and the business community for resources to sustain its important
programs. We invite and appreciate your donation of volunteer
time, financial support, and other contributions. |

You can contribute resources in any or all of the following ways:
Financial Support: Help us continue our free and
high-quality adult and family literacy education programs through
a personal, tax-deductible donation by:
- Mailing in a check addressed to MCL, P. O. Box 2529, Shelton,
WA 98584
- Bringing your donation into the office. We are located at 133
W. Railroad Avenue, at the corner of 2nd & Railroad in downtown
Shelton.

Shop online and donate at the same time!!!
Shop on-line at www.Maatiam.com and tell your favorite store to make a contribution to Mason County Literacy. By using the Maatiam website a number of your favorite web stores will make a donation to Mason County Literacy. You can get more information at their web site FAQ. This service is at no cost to you or Mason County Literacy. To begin your philanthropic shopping experience, go to www.Mantiam.com. Volunteer Time: There are many ways you can participate!
Volunteers are sought for:
- tutoring adults in reading, ESL, math, and writing.
- working in the community technology center.
- preparing/organizing instructional materials.
- helping in the family literacy programs.
- assisting with clerical, reception, and/or data entry; planning
parties; designing marketing materials.
- organizing our library, weatherizing the office, plant care,
office cleaning, scrapbooking, and participating in fundraising
activities.
Other Resources:
Office Supplies: Pens, pencils, yellow pads, white or colored copier
paper, art materials for kids, manila folders, tape, sticky notes,
etc.
- New Children’s Books: To help low-income children build
their personal libraries.
- Equipment: Newer computer components (Pentium 4 and up).
- Auction Items: Donate art, jewelry, plants, and other specialty
items to our annual silent auction at Spring Spell-e-bration.
- Food: Prepare baked goods, fruit & vegetable trays, ice
cream cones for special events to honor students and volunteer
accomplishments.
